Martin Magnuson McCarthy & Kenney is pleased to announce the addition of three new attorneys to the firm. The firm welcomes Jacqueline Sullivan, Sean Brogan, and Ty Kiafoulis in the Boston office. Sullivan and Brogan’s practices will focus on Medical Malpractice, while Kiafoulis has joined the Product Liability team.
Jacqueline Sullivan has joined Martin, Magnuson, McCarthy & Kenney as Counsel. Her practice will focus on civil litigation matters including medical malpractice defense and general liability. Prior to this, she co-founded the law firm of Barrett & Sullivan, established in 1989. She has handled a broad range of litigation and other legal matters. She has been the lead trial attorney in numerous cases throughout Massachusetts. In addition to her practice, for over a decade she served as the attorney member of Medical Malpractice Tribunals in Middlesex County Superior Court. She has also been a Lecturer at Boston University School of Law in the Banking and Financial Law LL.M. program, a Joshua A. Guberman Teaching Fellow and Lecturer at Brandeis University, and a Lecturer at Northeastern University. Attorney Sullivan is a Phi Beta Kappa, cum laude, graduate of the College of the Holy Cross. A three-sport athlete, she was the co-captain of the varsity lacrosse team. She received her Juris Doctor from New England Law in Boston.
Sean Brogan is a seasoned attorney with experience in all areas of civil litigation. He graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University, receiving a Bachelor of Art in History. He then graduated from University of Illinois Chicago School of Law earning his Juris Doctor in 2015. Prior to joining Martin, Magnuson, McCarthy & Kenny, Sean practiced in and around Chicago, where he handled complex personal injury, construction, and medical malpractice matters. He was often asked to take over large and complex cases, by excess insurers, weeks before trial to ensure an advantageous outcome for his clients. Mr. Brogan is well-versed in all phases of litigation, having handled matters from preliminary investigations through trial and appeals. He has served as first chair on jury and bench trials in jurisdictions that yield some of the largest plaintiff’s verdicts in the country, with verdicts in his clients’ favor. Mr. Brogan is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Illinois. In addition, he has practiced in Federal District Courts and states around the country.
Ty Kiafoulis is an associate who recently joined Martin, Magnuson, McCarthy & Kenney in the spring of 2022. Ty works with the products liability team at the firm, where his practice primarily focuses on toxic tort, construction defect, and general liability matters. Prior to joining MMM&K, Ty was an associate at a Boston based defense litigation firm where he worked on personal injury, construction defect, and premises liability matters. Ty graduated with honors from the University of Michigan before earning his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in 2021. During his time at BC Law, he worked with MMM&K’s products liability team in 2020 as a summer law clerk and part-time throughout his last year of law school. He also worked at the Michigan Supreme Court, where he gained valuable, practical experience as a judicial intern to a Michigan Supreme Court Justice. Ty is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
