Michael J. Keefe is a partner at Martin, Magnuson, McCarthy and Kenney, and has over 33 years of experience as a trial lawyer. Mr. Keefe’s practice focuses on civil tort litigation, including the defense of medical/dental malpractice cases, construction law, premises liability, products liability, liquor liability, and general liability cases.

He has successfully tried a number of high exposure cases in both state and federal court involving wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury. He has also successfully argued appeals before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and First Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Keefe’s practice also involves the representation of physicians and other health care providers in administrative proceedings before the Boards of Registration in Medicine and Dentistry. Mr. Keefe also regularly advises medical practices and health care institutions on risk management and regulatory compliance matters.

Mr. Keefe has received an AV Preeminent Rating, the highest rating for Ethical Standards and Professional Excellence, from the international rating directory, Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Keefe is a graduate of Boston College (magna cum laude, 1979) and Suffolk University Law School (cum laude, 1982), where he was a member and Managing Editor of the Suffolk University Law Review. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Keefe was a law clerk for the Honorable J. Calvett Clarke, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (1982 – 1983).
