Steve O’Shea is a partner and trial lawyer with Martin, Magnuson, McCarthy & Kenney, and is licensed to practice law in the state and federal trial and appellate courts in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  For more than 27 years, Steve has dedicated his career to the tenacious defense of highly complex civil actions involving catastrophic injury or death, including claims and actions for medical malpractice, professional liability, liquor liability, premises liability and product liability claims.  With a tireless work ethic and passionately creative approach, Steve has successfully tried numerous jury trials to verdict in favor of physicians and international business organizations, as well as argued cases on appeal.  In addition, Steve has represented health care providers, hospitality companies and other business owners through dispositive motion practice with many successful motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment in both state and federal trial courts.  He is frequently called upon to assist risk managers, claims professionals, and clients with pre-suit attorney-client privileged investigations, as well as mock jury trials, focus group presentations, and mediation.

In addition to his civil litigation practice, Steve represents physicians and allied health care professionals with the defense of regulatory investigations and actions before the various Boards of Registration, Department of Public Health, and Department of Mental Health.  Steve also volunteers to serve as a guest speaker for risk management programs, including multiple times for the New England Ophthalmologic Society. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected by his peers for inclusion in New England Super Lawyers© under Medical Malpractice Law.

Steve graduated from Saint Michael’s College in Winooski, VT and New England Law/Boston, Cum Laude, in 1991.
